- Teams MUST use a Continuous Batting Order with free defensive substitutions.
- Coaches will set a batting line-up prior to the beginning of the first game in pool play.
- All players will bat in the line-up and are expected to hit. If a player is forced to leave the game, the following protocol will be followed:
- Ejection:
- A player ejection while roster batting will result in the team losing that player for the entire game. His/her spot in the batting order WILL be an automatic out.
- Injury:
- Batter: If a batter cannot fulfill his/her time at bat due to injury or illness, that player will be eliminated from that entire game. That spot will be skipped in the batting order. Teams will not be required to take an automatic out UNTIL they drop below 9 players.
- Runner: If a runner cannot continue their time on the bases, that player will be substituted with the last batter not on base. That athlete will not be allowed to participate in the remainder of the game. The line-up will compress when that spot comes to bat.
- Ejection:
- Nine players shall be the defensive starters (Ages 9U – 14U) and 10 players shall be the defensive starters (8U) in game #1.
- Non-starters in game #1 MUST be starters in game #2.

ABOUT THE ALL STATE EVENT
Welcome to the home of the Texas USSSA All-State Event! This Event page will serve as the hub for all information for the All-State Showcase hosted each July.
The All-State event will highlight players who have been nominated throughout the season at participating All-State Showcase events. Players are nominated for displaying great sportsmanship, effort and all-around great tournament performance. Only players nominated in Texas are eligible for the Texas All State event.
HOW IT WORKS: NOMINATION PROCESS
- Coaches will receive a nomination form after competing in any USSSA event in Texas. Based on order of finish, coaches will have the opportunity to nominate a select number of All-State players from the their roster to compete at the All-State Event.
Team assignment of players will be finalized by the hosting organization, tournament director and the State Director.
All players that have been nominated at each All-State event will be posted on the ALL-STATE Showcase Nominees’ page.
ALL STATE COACHING STAFF
Coaches will be selected based on the order of finish at the State Tournament. Coaches from teams that win their State Tournament will have the first option to coach. The runner-up team has the second option and so on. We may still need help with coaching at the event even using this method, if that is the case we will post a coaching application.
